Dr. Nileena N.K.M. is a specialist in psychiatry and sleep medicine with a strong background working with low-income populations. She is currently working as a consultant at the Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences.

She completed her MBBS from the Government Medical College, Kottayam, Kerala and then her psychiatry specialization from the Government Stanley Medical College, Chennai. During her residency training, she developed a particular interest in sleep medicine and completed her fellowship at the Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences under Dr. N.Ramakrishnan’s mentorship. She is a member of the Indian Sleep Disorders Association.

She is a disciplined physician with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is comfortable working with patients with mental health problems. She also has an extensive understanding of brain chemistry and psychopharmacology to make sound decisions about medication. Dr. Nileena employs her knowledge in psychiatry and sleep medicine to better understand sleep disorders and guide patients with a holistic approach.

She actively participates in Nithra’s training programmes for medical professionals, including doctors, dentists, and sleep technicians. She also has a keen research interest and has authored peer-reviewed publications. She has participated in multiple awareness and outreach programmes like walkathons, television shows, radio shows and health awareness campaigns for people in various walks of life.

Ms. Uma Maheswari completed her Bachelor in Physician Assistant from the Madras Medical Mission Hospital, where she has also completed her one-year internship as a physician assistant. While ably assisting the doctors in providing care, she also effectively bridges the communication channel between patients and physicians.

Ms. Mary Isabel graduated from Stella Maris College, Chennai and completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Management from Madurai Kamaraj University. She has been with Nithra since inception and has over 15 years of experience in patient services and handling administration and managerial work.

Dr. Vivekanand VV is a specialist in pediatric pulmonology and pediatric sleep medicine. He completed his MD in Paediatrics from JJM Medical College Davangere, Karnataka. He did his fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the Institute of Child Health-Madras Medical College and underwent further subspecialty training abroad in pediatric pulmonology and pediatric sleep at the National University Hospital of Singapore (NUH) for a period of two years. He also completed his European diploma in pediatric respiratory medicine in 2022. He is trained in the diagnosis and management of sleep problems in the pediatric age group as well as in the interpretation and scoring of Paediatric Polysomnography (Sleep Studies)-both diagnostic and titration.

Dr. Gomathi is a Clinical Associate and General Practitioner at Nithra. Graduated from Vinayaka Mission’s University in 2015. Previously worked as casualty medical officer handling all medical emergencies. Assess patients who come with sleep problems and guide them with required investigations like sleep study and polysomnography. Explain various treatments to patients and coordinate multidisciplinary care for sleep disorders.

Ms. Hema completed her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management, and Dietetics at the University of Madras (Chennai) and subsequently her master’s degree in Applied Nutrition at Annamalai University, Chidambaram. She has also pursued her post graduate certification in diabetes education, a recognized education programme of the International Diabetes Federation, Christian Medical College, Vellore, and the Steno Education Center, Denmark, in collaboration with Novo Nordisk Education Foundation, India.

She has over 16 years of experience providing counseling for women’s health, weight loss, diabetes management, heart health, gastrointestinal disorders, and other special needs. She is a life member of the Indian Dietetic Association (I.D.A.) Chennai Chapter and Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), New Delhi.

She actively participates in community programmes to promote wellness, prevent and manage disease through optimal nutritional health.

As a Quality System Officer, she played a key role in the accreditation process with the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare (NABH) and always ensures that services are executed to the highest standards.

Ms. Sathiyakala has completed her Diploma Course in E.C.G., E.M.G .& E.E.G. from the Stanley Medical College, Chennai. She has over ten years of experience in performing and scoring sleep studies.

Mr. Hariharan completed his bachelor’s degree at Ganga Institute of Health Science, Coimbatore. He completed a certification course in polysomnography and also has 3 years of experience in critical care.

Mr. Joseph Leatheef completed his Bachelor in Economics from Madras University. He has almost ten years of experience in customer service.
